London Cocktail Week is all about experiencing and enjoying the experts doing their thing around the cocktail bars of London, but as we gear up for the 14th annual festival - do you have what it takes to give them a run for their money!?
We know the last few years have seen more and more people experiment with cocktails at home and we figured that by now - some of you must be pretty good! So we have teamed up with our friends at The Whisky Exchange and TV's best-loved bartender Merlin Griffiths to run an unbelievable competition… we’re on the search for Britain’s Best Home Bartender.
Entering is easy - just film yourself making your original creation and upload it HERE.
We’ll need the recipe too as Merlin will be recreating your recipes himself to taste test and select the best three from across the country. Those three finalists will be brought down to London as guests of London Cocktail Week - compete in a live final (just like professional bartenders) and stay the night at The Hoxton, Southwark - with the winner taking the crown!
Merlin has recently launched his very own Signature Bar Kit which we can attest is fantastic to use - and the winner will also win a limited edition Signature 7-Piece Gold Bar Kit (proper carat gold - not just gold plated!) There’s more too… The overall winner can choose £5,000 worth of spirits and liqueurs from The Whisky Exchange to create their dream home bar PLUS an all-expenses-paid trip for two to the Johnnie Walker Experience in Edinburgh - which is truly something to behold - a fascinating deep dive into Scotch whisky and the Johnnie Walker brand.

T&Cs and Competition rules
To enter, competitors must upload a video of them making their signature cocktail. Supply a written recipe with ingredient quantities in millilitres. Cocktails must include a minimum of three ingredients. Care and consideration should be given to glassware, ice style, garnish and cocktail name. Homemade ingredients are permitted as long as recipes are provided.
- Enthusiastic amateurs only, no professionals
- Entrants must be 18 years of age or over
- Entries close at midnight on 22 September 2023
The top-three finalists will be invited to London on Saturday 14th October 2023 (return travel will be recompensed) to compete in a live final at The Hoxton Hotel, Southwark. Competitors will be asked to make their Signature Cocktail under competition conditions and the winner will be crowned on the day. If homemade ingredients are included - competitors must supply. All three finalists (and guest if required) will stay overnight at The Hoxton Hotel, Southwark on Saturday 14th October. Competitors will receive London Cocktail Week wristbands to enjoy the festival whilst in London.
The overall winner will win;
- £5,000 worth of spirits and liqueurs provided by The Whisky Exchange
- Merlin’s Signature bar kit in limited-edition gold
- A trip for two to the Johnnie Walker Experience in Edinburgh, which includes travel from any UK mainland airport or train station, two nights in a luxury hotel and dinner at one of the city’s top restaurants
